The computer users can recover their data as they don’t lose it forever from the computer. They can use different methods for the recovery of their data often heard from their friends or with their own research.
The myths of the data recovery become reality if the users have been able to recover their with their own belief. Although they can not be as perfect as data recovery professionals but still they can be good. The data recovery process can become expensive if hard drive is open in clean room. There are many myths available for the computer users on internet which can make some sense for computer users in worse situations eliminating the beliefs.
“Hit It” Myth
It is one of the oldest myth in which people tap hard drive with a screwdriver if hard drive is not detected. It is recognized as one of the attempts as this procedure is already used. In this case the hard drive might work for some hours and then stop again. These taps can cause marks and dents on hard drive. The distance between head and disk surface decrease with the time.
The pieces of the heads spread inside disks which can scratch the disk causing complete data loss. Therefore hit it technique is not good as disk can become totally unrecoverable in this case. The read arm can loosen by the taps which was started to stick. You should stop if it doesn’t work in two attempts as it can damage the surface.
“Drop It” Myth
This myth is also used by some of the users to drop their hard drive if it is having some problems. But it can break in this case therefore this technique is also not recommended. There is always luck involve in starting hard drive if you don’t know what happened to the hard drive. The solution of problems without knowing it can cause serious damage to the computer. The playing and trying data recovery can be good in this way if data is not of value but if data is valuable then these techniques are not good for your hard drive.
